For our women's team it may not be terrible but it is not an accomplishment.
Why not? How many Olympic medals have you won?
I have won the same number of Olympic medals as you. For a team that won the last World Cup and being ranked 1st in the world coming up 3rd in the Olympics is a disappointment, not an accomplishment based on the standards they have set for themselves.

And her second goal was a screamer. I think she’s aged out now from the Uswnt but she’s scored or assisted on the biggest stages and she should be extremely proud of the career she had. That assist to Wambach in stoppage time of overtime against Brazil is easily my favorite moment in sports.
If you watch a lot of soccer and understand the game Rapinoe is very disruptive to the team. She is slow, defenders do not fear her when she has the ball, she is out of position, does not track down or player defense, has no off the ball movement, consistently turns the ball over and seems uninterested when she does not have the ball. Rapinoe is one of the reason the team plays so poorly against better teams. Other players have to cover for her- Dunn. When Rapinoe is on the filed the US is playing a man down. She was this way in the last World Cup also. At her best she was a role player surrounded be very talented players. It is criminal she took the gold boot from Morgan.

Ertz is the least of our problems. She has not fully recovered from injury so I would not be too hard on her. Our big problem is our best attacking players have aged.
