I’m so grateful for SB 1303 right now. Otherwise I know we’d be looking at another year of virtual and hybrid in Arlington.

Many, many breakthrough infections are beginning to happen with the vaccinated. Yikes. Be careful out there.
In this article, of the 130 in Cape Cod, the majority is with the vaccinated. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/cape-cod-covid-19-cluster-grows-130-infected/story?id=78956381

I don’t think people did, and that’s the problem.

Also I don’t understand why everyone is guessing about the masks... all children in school will be wearing masks. Virginia has already stated they’re following the AAP recommendation that all children over two regardless of vaccination status will be required to wear a mask.

When did Virginia say this?

Six states have announced that they will require K-12 students to wear masks in school, regardless of their vaccination status:

Connecticut
Hawaii
New Mexico
New York
Virginia
Washington.

Here's the actual latest guidance - released this afternoon. It does suggest requiring masks for all ES kids, leaves a lot of wiggle room for secondary, and technically requires nothing. VDH has announced there will be no extension of the school mask mandate that expires on 25 July.

Wish there was more guidance when it comes to lunch time.

How long will the vaccine be deemed not safe enough for FDA approval, but OK for emergency use?

Kids (< 12) - Pfizer was supposed to have interim data this month and then apply in Sept/Oct but not sure if they are still going for those. It seems to be delayed because CDC changing to require longer follow-up duration
EUA vs full approval for adults - https://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-fda-may-not-fully-approve-a-covid-19-vaccine-until-january-heres-why-11626877261 - some recent articles but it may be 6 months though at which point we may see more mandates to get it

I wear a mask because I know two fully vaccinated adults who have gotten Covid in the past month. They did not get terribly sick and I hope that they did not spread it to others. So, yes, I wear a mask indoors in public places like the store. Much of the developed world has done this for many years when there is an outbreak. NBD.

I continue to be confused about the upset that some folks have with regards to to other people wearing a mask.

They told us from the beginning that the shot wouldn't prevent people from getting it or spreading it but would reduce severity of symptoms, which would bring it down to common cold level. There is no need to keep freaking out about it, unless we think the pharma companies are lying/hiding something.
