Subject: How many units of Botox do you get?

She did 25 units in my forehead and 15 between my eyebrows. This seems like so much! Based on what I’d read here, I was thinking it would be more like 20-25 total.
I got it for the first time at 39. I got 34 units total between my eyebrows, forehead, and a little near my crows feet. I went to the SkinBarre in McClean and they are awesome!

She doesn’t. She doesn’t even get Botox. So she has no clue. There are some women here who insist on believing Botox is plastic surgery or filler so they can feel morally superior about not getting it. They make up random facts about it they’ve decided are true. It’s weird.

No it isn’t. Filler is an injectable substance that stays in your face. Botox is a toxin that temporarily paralyzes muscles. They’re completely different. You undergo no anesthesia, numbing, anything to get it done. It’s no more surgery than a shot is.

Sorry I'm late in responding. My chin is very dimpled, in a bad way. When I purse my lips, which happens while chewing, talking, etc, my chin...sort of...dissolves into a pile of craters. So she does a couple injections in the middle of my chin, which just makes me look normal.

Wow, you get a LOT. How old are you? I get 30 units, same spots, including a "touch" in crow's feet. I'm 53 and go every five months.
It does lead to arched brows, sadly. But not 30 units.

Yes it does. Not np. I’m sitting in a restaurant the other day and there were women of all ages around me. I felt line I was in an alien movie! No you brows arched that high does not look youthful.

Actually, it makes some people's eyelids DROOP, which gives the impression of arched brows.
So you are wrong, and the PP is correct.

I’ve been contemplating Botox and I hadn’t thought of this! My smile is like my only attractive feature, so I’m glad you flagged this! I guess I’ll just stick to brows.

I had 8 in my frown lines around my mouth/chin. Definitely helped the wrinkles look smoother, but my smile is weird and not natural for me. My natural smile is pretty, so no more Botox for me, and I will make a point to smile more.

Surgery PP is really off base. My DD gets botox injected into her pyloric muscle, which requires an endoscopy under light anesthesia. If you refer to it as surgery to the health providers involved, they always correct you to say procedure. No cuts made=not surgery.
