It's not about skill, it's about sightlines. When you back in to a parking space, the worst case is misjudging how much space you have and bumping a surrounding car. When you back out of a parking space, the worst case is not seeing a kid dart past and running them over.
If this is something you (or anyone else) struggles, with, then I question how competent you are to drive in the first place. I've been driving for 26 years, and have never had any issue ever of remotely coming close to hitting a person while backing up. And I've only had a rear camera for about 5 years. Check your mirrors properly, look over your shoulders, and it's a non issue. It is literally never a problem if you are paying attention.
Hey, that's great for you! I've been driving for 21 years and I also haven't hit anybody while backing out of a parking space. But that doesn't negate the fact that one has better sightlines when pulling out of a parking space than when backing out.

I love watching them come back with their cart and not be able to open the back to load up. What was the plan? Hope no one would park behind them?
I drive Jeep with rock bumpers and a tow hitch. If you pulled forward into my space behind me so I couldn’t open my tailgate, I’d just put the Jeep in low-range, slowly reverse into your front bumper until I made contact, and then give it a little gas, and push your car backwards a couple feet until you were back in your own parking space. NBD. Then I’d load whatever I needed to in the back, since I’d have room again.
Too bad about the front end of your car.
That’s not gonna buff out.
I’m LMAO picturing this in my mind! OMG, hysterical!
I do this to people. I will open my trunk and scrape up someone's hood if they park to close.

And I despise sitting in the lane waiting for an eternity while you back out into traffic a foot at a time because you can’t see through the sides of the cars on either side of you, so you inch out really slowly, not really knowing if anyone is coming or not. So it took you 2 seconds to pull into the space, but a minute and half to back out of it.

Backing in is harder and requires more competency than pulling in, ergo Maryland drivers are more skilled.
Critical thought not your thing, eh?
PP is too busy driving 62 in the left lane to reply to you.
