I prefer Miranda because Shakespeare was writing in English and the Romans were not... on the other hand, Min is a good nickname for a small girl

If you're ok with the annoying kid that says, you're getting on my ner vas to your daughter daily, go for it. The meaning is lovely though.

It is the name my family used to denote someone like a Karen growing up. I imagine she has droopy boobs, a wrinkled, pear-shaped body, and a cigarette with a lot of ash on the end that she barely remembers to flick off before it falls on her chest.

I’m sorry if you really like it, but that’s what the name conjure me up in my head. Plenty of people dislike some of my favorite names, but what ha gonna do? If you like the name, use. Hopefully, your kid will rock it!

I love names from the Greek myths and I love the meaning behind Minerva. And I think if you are committed to it and embrace it, it could be great.

But I have to admit my initial association is with Harry Potter and I think that association will be particularly strong during your DD's formative years, so I might avoid it for that reason.

I do want to second the suggestion of Miranda though! I loooooove that name and really wanted to use it for my DD, but we had an issue with initials and our middle name pick and wound up eliminating all our "M" names as a result. It's probably the name I feel most wistful about not using -- it's so musical and feminine but also strong.

But if the meaning is what draws you, you could consider Sonia or Ramona, which have a similar feel.

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan for reasons that were already mentioned. If you're looking for a mythological name, there are plenty of other ones that you could consider.

Roman historical names were often given to enslaved persons in the U.S. Those associations spring to mind for me.
