Yup, send DD to camp today with the sniffles. No fever. Just a runny nose.
Packed a box of tissues in her backpack.

Wow that's really great! Fauci said Covid is under control when we hit less than 10,000 cases a day. Incredible news!!!
"Under control" doesn't mean "over." Plenty of experts are concerned about a resurgence because of the Delta variant in areas with significant unvaxxed populations.
That said, I'm not keeping my kid home because she has a runny nose. A fever? Yes. A bad cough? Yes. Tired or otherwise clearly feeling under the weather? Yes. The sniffles and lots of energy and a good appetite? Nope. It's not even listed on my camp form as a symptom of COVID.
I didn't say "over". Disease is this world. Amongst humans, animals, it's everywhere. I don't live in an area with significant unvaxxed populations. That's their problem and they can enjoy having covid around for another year. Good riddance.
It will never be over. We have never eradicated a respiratory virus. It is seasonal and endemic. We have to live with it.

Yeah I agree. Colds aren't covid. Of course it sucks to have a cold, but we can't shut everything down covid style anytime someone gets a cold.

My kid has allergies. We’ve been through the drill many times over the last few months. Runny nose, maybe some coughing. Stay home, Covid test. Covid test negative and back to school or camp.
To be honest, it is exhausting to have to rule out Covid every time he has a runny nose.

Yep. If you don't want your kid exposed to sniffles I suggest YOU keep THEM home. The rest of us are moving on. Two more weeks! Flatten the curve!
It depends on how strict the camp is.
If kids need to stay home for ANY symptom then they should stay home.
I'm not worried about COVID, but I don't want to waste a $$$$ camp spot because you couldn't keep your snotty kid at home.

If my kids are acting fine (cheery, upbeat etc) but have a runny nose, yes I am sending them.
If they seem ill, like they are tired or feverish or seem run down, I will keep them home.
But I am not keeping my kids home for a little runny nose.

And here in Maryland there were 65 cases out of 6 million people. If you're contagious for 10 days that is 650 people in a state of 6 million who have covid. I'm not going to stop living my life because of that.

I think the cold is spreading via contact since kids are all still masked except outdoor lunch.
My kid had a camp today. Unmasked indoor lunch then play in the gym with no masks. This was what I booked as an outdoor camp.
