What?!? That's like 1 in a million odds there for a healthy adult, let alone a child. Would love to see those medical records to prove that one.
Regardless, it looks like the "scamdemic" person is lamely trying to using a straw man argument to counter anyone who does not believe in the SmartRestart story of COVID (i.e., like the vast, vast majority of this country do not, but just slightly smaller in Arlington). The "SmartRestart, keep schools closed and kids masked through 2030" crowd are on the losing side of history and science. When will they give up the fear porn?!?
Enrollment appears to be down by the most in % of any school district in the country, with families fleeing in droves to private to avoid the damage they've done to the school system. Is their goal permanent damage to the school system?
The person with permanent lung damage was already with comorbidities or whatever you call it. In other words; your health was already subpar.
That being said, there’s an agenda to dumb down (EVEN MORE) public education in US. I don’t expect people who mask outdoors to grasp this or even believe it (because they didn’t get told by *insert their favorite acronym*)

I am an elementary teacher as well. Since I am vaccinated, and assuming the numbers stay as low as they are now, I am fine with no mask requirement. But I understand your position.

Most reasonable and this is what I'm hoping for too
+1. Elementary and MS will be masked at least for the first semester. HS could go either way, probably maskless since at this point those who aren't vaccinated have chosen not to Some individuals may mask by choice, and there will need to be guidance against bullying/harassment against any student or adult who chooses to mask regardless of the reason. They will be watching both infection rates in case there is an increase as cold weather starts and also vaccination rates among the younger population.
You have it backwards. We need to watch out for bullying and harassment against vaccinated students and adults who choose not to wear masks. Some in this area want everyone to mask forever.
Not forever. We are reasonable people. Just until it's safe for everyone and until the younger kids get vaccinated. Wearing a mask isn't going to kill you. Not wearing one might.
Uh, no. You see, many believe vaccinated people still need to wear masks or are at risk to themselves or others if they don’t. The rest of the county has moved on but the DMV is stuck since we have so many like this here.
