We just did 4 nights at Portafino (sp?). Loved it. If we had only stayed at hotel/city walk/Universal’s main parks, then I think it would have seemed too long. Can you do one day at Animal Kingdom or Discovery Cove? That would break it up nicely. Reserve a dinner at Willy Wonka’s at city walk. We really liked the pizza place at city walk.

If you will have express pass through your hotel, then yes. Maybe a month out make a couple dinner reservations.

OP again. Thanks for feedback so far. We’ve done Disney twice and know it requires way ahead of time planning. With Universal, do I just reserve hotel and get flights for now? This is for January.

Of those two I’d stay at Royal Pacific. Portofino is technically walkable but it’s so far I don’t really consider it walkable. Stay at Royal Pacific or Hard Rock.
