I wish we'd redone all our electrical and plumbing before moving in. Wish we'd replaced our air conditioning ducts. Wish we'd gotten the addition checked out and fixed, to the extent it needs fixing. Wish I'd expanded one bathroom, but not replaced the glass shower doors when the old ones had some cool etchings on them, and NOT put those stupid fake wood tiles on the bathroom floor. (They are easy to clean, I will give them that.)

All that said I love our house, and all the things I wish we had and hadn't done, I am very grateful we got to buy this place and live here

I hate the cabinets I chose but I think our contractor did a shoddy job on finishes in general, like kickplates and where the floor meets them- stuff like that. There's a nail that sticks up.

I love moroccan tiles- do you mean the arabesque shapes? I'm still warming up to DO that eventually. Is it already passé?

I regret my Moroccan tiles I installed over 5 years ago (when the trend was just emerging) in my powder room. They are still beautiful and are not yet dated but I’m a bit over the trend because it’s so overdone. Wish I had just gone with a classic marble mosaic.

Thanks for mentioning this. We’re thinking of doing an addition and the attic access is in the master bedroom. Might be worth moving.

Wish I'd put in a larger sink when we redid the kitchen.

check out chairish.com to replace your sectional. You can search for just DC area. Upholstery is so backed up right now your new one might not arrive until Christmas...

You need to spend more to get a better and better suited sectional. Find the one you want to live with. Sell this one. Life is too short.
