Sounds like you are the one who is pissed off. I just calmly ignore the rule when I want to breathe freely outside. I don’t mind masks when shopping indoors, so there I still wear them to make you feel better, even though I am vaccinated and the store isn’t mandating it.

But are they really required though? Has someone made you leave school property for not wearing one?


It’s official policy. I occasionally ignore it, but I’m one of the few who do. I bet lots of (most) parents only wear them because they are rule followers. So the policy definitely has power, in conjunction with peer pressure.


DC is the land of blindly following rules regardless of how effective or useful they are. For such an educated region of the country independent thought is really lacking.

as a functional member of society, I just took my kid to Starbucks - me unmasked and him masked. The other unmasked patrons seemed thrilled to chat and see us out having a relatively normal time. THAT felt like being a functional member of society. Not some weird covid theater that visually symbolizes the dysfunctional system that closed schools this year. everyone pretending together is dysfunctional.
