It sounds like in this situation you can avoid as the other person likely won't want to engage with you either. For the sake of your mutual friends, be civil if not decent. You will look like the better person.

Be an adult, OP. There will inevitably be people in this world who you don't like - and probably don't like you, imagine that!
Part of being an adult is basic manners and civility - not being petty, not looking for slights, not gossiping like a spoiled, immature, bratty ("mommy doesn't love me!!!") school child.
Not everything is going to go your way in life, and that is okay. Learn to suck it up.
