These are all good. Also West Wing, Veep (if you can handle the language and cynicism). Umbrella Academy.
And, for science fi—Star Trek Next Generation (skip the first season); Falling Skies if that is streaming anywhere.

Or for a movie Monty Python Holy Grail or Young Frankenstein (if you don’t mind all the jokes about knockers).

The draw is, for me, that it's incredibly optimistic, caring and sweet, with enough random pop culture references that I enjoyed it just as much the second time (because I caught things I missed the first time).

Terminator - the series
Mission Impossible - series
Hunt for Red October
Indiana Jones
5th Element
Top Gun
Jurassic Park - series
Lord of the Ring - series
Big
Ferris Buellers Day off
Pink Panther - series
James Bond

This is a great list. I have watched all of the above with my sons (and daughters!). I am adding in two oldies that are often forgotten: Das Boot (there is a subtitle version and a dubbed version) and Apollo 13.

15 yo DS and I love watching The Office together. So funny. Wonder Years would be awesome too. I may need to get Hulu if it’s on there.

I watched O Brother Where Art Thou? with my teen DS during the shutdown. He loved it. We quote it a lot, and he asked to watch it again over the long weekend.

Silicon Valley was a hit with my son, if you have HBO.

Also, Lost, Breaking Bad, The Office

We watch classic movies like Lost Boys, Terminator, the Christopher Reeve Superman’s.

Would love recommendations for TV and movies; extra points for things that don’t involve the Avengers, Star Wars characters, or stupid violence/sex just for the sake of stupid violence/sex. (I’m not opposed to either, but the usage has to advance the plot and/or be part of a larger message.)

If he’s learning Spanish(or already speaks it), “Rebelde”.

OMG I was so happy to share Community with my teens (my husband and I loved it when it first came out, even though NBC practically sabotaged it). They adore Troy and Abed.
