I found it depressing and could never get the image of Bryan in his tighty whites with a gas mask out of my mind. No thanks.

ACK! No! I loved both of these so much. But I do tend to love bro-shows. Buddy cop movies? Love them... But the English major in me loved BB and The Wire because of the writing. They are really well done!

Was coming here to say the same thing! The Wire so highly acclaimed. So many people I know and whose opinions I respect loved it. Could not get into i. Tried 4-5 episodes. Tried two or three times. I am sure it is as great as everyone says, just doesn’t grab me.

Loved Breaking Bad though.

I’m a woman and loved both - they are far better than most of the other fluff on TV these days.

I would rather be locked in a solitary confinement cell than to be made to watch Desperate Housewives type soap opera dramas, or any of the reality TV drivel that so many gals are enthralled by - Bachelor? Bachelorette? Real Housewives? BARF!

So maybe it’s not a gender thing, but a maturity/intellect thing.

I gave up on it too, but I generally have s hard time watching shoes with unlikeable, unsympathetic characters.

THANK YOU. My husband takes it as a personal insult that I just could never get into The Wire.

I started Breaking Bad and I think I could like it, but haven't gone back to it.

I love BB but I couldn't get through the first 10 minutes of Shameless.

I watched it. I found it fascinating for a while. I definitely cared about the characters and what was happening. However, I will say I wish I hadn’t started it.

The finale of season three left me completely unhinged. I was actually in anguish about and for Jessie, and crying. It was at that point I wished hadn’t started watching the series at all.

I took a break, eventually coming back because I felt like I needed closure and to know what happened with a few of the characters.

I’ve tried a few times. Can’t get into it.

Same! I’m a woman, and I was hooked at episode 1. Fascinating series, IMO. (My unpopular opinion is that it should’ve ended after season 4.)

I liked Breaking Bad, but I didn't love it. I never saw what everyone else sees in the show, I also didn't watch when it first came out. I wondered if I would have felt differently then.
