You don’t know and it doesn’t matter. You’re outdoors. Try not to make out with strangers at the playground and you’ll be safe from COVID.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:All this talk about how you can get covid even after full vaccination isn’t exactly going to inspire more people to get vaccinated, you know.
No vaccine is 100%, but the odds that you will contract covid after vaccination are incredibly low.
I mean, really, are none of you ever going to socialize massless again?
I’m gonna be honest, people I know who are hard freaking out about the coming end of mask mandates are not exactly the types who had a rollicking social life before Covid. So yeah ........
Anonymous wrote:Why are people so mean about this? I think that it will take a lot of time for some of us to get out of the shell shock of the last year. It will definitely feel strange and cause a lot of anxiety to run around maskless after the lockdowns, rates of infection and death toll of the past year. Plus, we do not know who is vaccinated and who is not.
I still haven't had dose #2, and I know many people who are in the line still so we're still masked. I expect that to continue for the next few months.
Just don't worry about those who still wear masks. If they're not bothering you, why would you judge? You have no idea what they've been through.
As an aside, I lived in E Asia for a while. People wear masks in big cities regularly sans COVID so why is it a big deal here?

Anonymous wrote:I have worn a mask every time I've left my house for like a year. When the CDC said I no longer had to wear it (I am fully vaccinated) outdoors unless I was in a really crowded area, I stopped wearing it outside, including on the playground. I always carry one with me (in case it actually got crowded, which it never does) and if someone asked me to put it on, I would. Otherwise, I've been conservative about this, and feel no need to continue wearing it outdoors.

But, people like you are why we don't go to playgrounds.
But…you’ve been told repeatedly that the likelihood of getting COVID outside is basically zero.
The likelihood of getting covid outside is not zero. Not all adults are vaccinated. Kids are not vaccinated. Kids are in close contact with each other on the playground. The vaccine is to reduce your symptoms. You can still get and spread covid but the goal is for you to be asymptomatic. Great interpretation to meet your needs though.
The still getting and spreading thing isn't true. Keep up with the science! Vaccines = a Wall against the Virus. Yay Vaccines!
Oh, BS. Tell that to the 7 fully vaccinated coaches of the New York Yankees.
