You’re wrong. If I don’t buy my 14 year old clothes and hand them to him and get rid of the too small pieces he would continue wearing them. He has no issue walking around in pants that are 4 inches too short etc.
PS. He wears the same sweater hoody every day if I let him. He doesn’t care.

Maybe not but they should. It's part of training to be an adult. Like cleaning the bathroom and doing your own laundry. If you don't trust your kid to handle it then go with them but let them do the choosing and financial calculating.

OP, ignore the crazies... they married men who can’t dress themselves snd they still blame their MIL.
It’s normal to help a young teen pick out clothes.

Those of you who told me to chill out, he’s not a doll, etc...please know that I was not upset or worked up at all. I was simply asking for clothes recommendations to add some variety to my son’s wardrobe. He has outgrown everything so he needs all new clothes anyway. I ordered a few Hurley, Patagonia, and North Face shirts today. It’s a start.
I understand OP. My son has zero interest in clothes. And will only wear what I buy, but only very plain, very comfy clothes. He wears similar clothes often enough he gets picked on. I m reading this thread hoping for ideas.
