Onia, just scroll through their offerings--screams couple bros have a business plan, hire out the rest. The front crotch cut on the women's is atrocious.

How is the crotch cut atrocious? It looks like every other swimsuit and has more coverage than half of mine. Wear shorts if you don't like it. But to act like it is a vulgar bathing suit is ridiculous.

I didn't say vulgar, I should have said bungled. This isn't right:

Here it's more pronounced:

This is going for the minimal hidden elastic look, newish in swimwear, but they've cut the leg with a slight undulating curve, which doesn't work. Scroll through suits on Net-a-Porter, you won't see any making this mistake--there's a variety of cuts: high, low, narrow, wide, but the leg opening is always a simple convex curve, stretch fabric needs support. You won't see this at a tried-and-true brand like Lands' End either. It's the mark of a striver, they want to do luxury for less, but they didn't hire the right person. Also it's in the discount bin.

I don't know what your whacko "tech bro" agenda is, but I have a basic Onia suit tank one piece and I can assure you it in no way "bulges" in the front or looks anything other than normal. It pretty much looks and fits exactly like my Jcrew tank suits, but better quality. If OP wants a good, classic suit, it is a good one to check out. I've ordered several from Net-a-porter and some looked terrible in the front. Everyone is shaped differently and swimsuit shopping is hard and very much trial and error.

I have have had really good luck with the Kona Sol brand at Target, both tankinis (which are plenty long) and one pieces. And the prices are great.

Andie— I have the Ribbed Tulum, and it looks and feels great.

I do not want to derail this thread, but man did I ever go the wrong direction in trying to understand the title.

Much relieved to finally open it.

I have some tankinis from Lands End that are super frumpy but they come in my cup size. I used to wear bikinis in cup sizes but now I have a little too much belly. Can anyone recommend cute tankinis in bra cup sizes? (I saw the Boden link, thank you, but the Milos is completely out in my size.)

I’ve always worn a one piece. A bikini reminded me too much of underwear, but it doesn’t bother me if others wear them.

Title Nine has some nice ones.

I often wear a tankini. It’s two piece for ease of use in the restroom but not matronly.

Stay away from Land’s End, which is Matron Central.

I generally prefer a black one-piece, with a sweetheart neckline and some ruching to make it look nice.

Hi rise bottoms are amazing. They feel so secure. Then pair with any tankini top you like that fits your top side well.

I'd had good luck with Kona Sol at Target. The one piece suits are sometimes a little bust-revealing, but I like their tankini tops.

P.S. I think tankinis look horrible on everyone unless you have a perfect, flat lower stomach. A bikini looks better.

Huh? What do you think a tankini is, exactly?

NP. Not sure exactly what PP means but I do agree tankinis are not flattering. I have a long waist so I know a major reason people buy them is because it's really hard to find one-pieces that fit when you are long-waisted. But it's really hard to get a flattering fit on a tankini. If the top is fitted, it will tend to ride up, which will actually emphasize your stomach area, not conceal it. And if the top is looser, you have extra bulk around your midsection. I'd much rather put the extra legwork into finding a one-piece that fits, or a bikini I don't hate (this is almost impossible) than give into the tankini.

This is PP and yes. I am talking about the traditional fit of a tankini that ends a couple of inches above the top of the bottoms, exposing just a little bit of skin around the lower stomach. I do not find this look flattering because it highlights what is the widest part of most women, right around the hips. If it overlaps with the bottom, this issue does not exist, but a normal bikini also doesn't create this issue either because a wider expanse of skin is exposed. I have a high hip to waist ratio so may be more focused on this; it probably matters less for an overall narrow or more athletic body type.

I like the high neck-halter style top. I don't know how well they work if you're well endowed, but for those of us with itty bittys, they're great and there is no danger of a handsy toddler or errant jump into the water causing your boobs to fall out. Plus pretty flattering if you have nice shoulders and arms.

I just ignore my midsection and leave it exposed for all to see. I mean, one piece, two piece, naked, no one is going to think I have a six-pack, but I am personally more comfortable in a two piece.

Actually it looks like a very normal classic scoopneck one piece suit. No idea what you are talking about “bros have a business plan.” I have two suits from them and both are well made and classic styles.

The intent of a tankini was to show a maybe 2 inch slice of lower.abdomen . I wear only ones that come all th way down and almost overlap a bikini bottom but I know that wasn't how they were sort of originally on the market as maybe 10 years ago
