Like you think teens have time for this, they are all busy doing extracurricular activities (like baseball) to try and get into top colleges.

I’m surprised there aren’t a couple dads (or moms) who can be reliably counted on to do some of these things. In my experience, a few parents tend to carry all the volunteer jobs, usually at every game. For example my DH is parent manager of both of our child’s sports teams, has been for years in various clubs, because he’s willing to do it. There are 15+ kids on each team, but the other 29 parents don’t offer (I don’t either, but I have helped with snacks and uniforms before on top of DH’s contributions). The same couple other dads help with other things at every game.

Yes, that sounds like travel soccer with the multiple levels. Parents would pay it for the other sports if it were offered for year round, multiple practices per week without volunteering. We paid to be on a low level soccer team for once child and knew it was pay to play rec.

So adding to this idea, I bet you would have at least five families that feel the same. That could be $1000+ for a position. Would that be worth it for someone? It would be a nice particle job for a college kid.

Okay, I’m the lazy and entitled PP. You bring up a good point. A lot of us would happily pay more for this to be a paid position. What do you think would it would cost to hire someone to manage paid teen positions like this? Yes, I would pay $200 just for our family to not have to volunteer at games. Would that do it? $300? It’s not that I don’t want to help. Like many, we are often juggling schedules for all our kids and we aren’t even at games. Our time is worth more than the money and yes, we would pay if we could. This isn’t different than those who hire gmheir nanny to drive to practices. Same idea.

$25.00 is far less than the carrying cost of an employee. If someone had to be hired to fill the volunteer positions in would be closed to $50+ per week.

This probably isn't fair but I read this as" "someone else can support my kids stuff. I'm gonna sit in my field chair and sip wine out of my travel mug".

Listen...do what you want...but my mom had ms and still found ways to pitch in. My dad was a volunteer coach in a household that needed him pulling overtime shifts. Unless you are dibilated in some way you sure can figure out how to get involved in your child's lives. The entitlement of the takers that need to be begged by the doers is gross.

Volunteer for a couple shift or we will assume your child does not want to play.
