When you reach 50--it is the great divide and all about how people took care of themselves throughout their lives. I am shocked on the days I go into my Office (started at 25) by the difference in my 26-year colleagues. Some look like and move like 75-year old grandmas/grandpas and others bounce around and look like vibrant 40-year olds.

I'm going to assume a lot of 50-year olds are going to lie about their age to stay in their 40s in dating profiles.

My friend's divorced mother, in her early 50ss (who is conventionally attractive/slim/fit but does not look much younger than 50) met her husband on eHarmony. He is a little older.

A man my husband golfs with just got engaged to a woman he met through activities at his country club. She's in her late 40s and he's in his mid 50s. We've known him for years and he always dated people somewhat close to his own age. Not every divorced guy is chasing 25 year olds.

07:08, I work FT and have a few M in the bank and though it’s true I can’t live the way I did with two incomes, I divorced someone who makes >$500K because life is too short for bad relationships. Note my existing money was not won in the divorce either, just in case you were going to go there.

I would like a real and relationship that is better than my marriage was. Having been burned by marriage I’m hesitant to try again but would marry someone trustworthy and kind. I am well educated so probably wouldn’t have as much in common with someone who isn’t.

Work.

Both my divorced 50-something neighbors met BFs at work after their divorces. One had known him for years, no love interest prior but both were divorced and bonded. The other met someone at an out of town work conference.
