I adopted my hound from HT under similar circumstances. She was the best dog ever. All of her puppies were adopted by the time we got her. I really wish I could have seen them. Especially now, because I miss her so much! ❤️❤️❤️

We didn't breed the dog for goodness sakes. But she's here, and she's had 11 puppies, and all 12 dogs have to be taken care of.

This is how I got my dog! Also, rural VA dog. Also, born in some caring foster family's living room (in a refrigerator box). She was one of three from a beagle looking mom (OMG 11....) and mystery dad. I am grateful for her foster family who let us meet her when she was tiny, come back to get her when she was older, and who kept her safe and warm until she came home with me. There's no way the fees paid covered the many hours of time the family spent caring for my dog's mom and her puppies until they were old enough to be sent to forever homes. Despite being sent home with an imperfect person (me) my dog has a good care and happy life - she has brought many hours of joy.

Mom really appears to be a Beagle, she has all the characteristics, except she is very quiet. Google says Beagles are vocal. She is not. She's about 30 pounds so I don't expect these puppies to be very big. Although a few of them are extremely rotund at this point. It is adorable.

Mom is extremely affectionate and touch-seeking. A bit too affectionate for me. Also very tolerant of being picked up, moved around, food taken away, she is very submissive to my personal dog. She's a nice dog. I don't think she'll have any problem getting adopted.
