FYI four apps/deposits on 11 puppies as of yesterday! Woo hoo!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Mine did as well. Coonhound rescue, picked up at age 1 with 12 in the belly, 11 survived. And buckshot in her legs.
She's the absolute most wonderful dog in the world. I can't imagine not having her.
I should add, she had a major infection after birth, which required hospitalization and surgery to remove everything. She also had trouble gaining weight for a long time after we had her, and her pups were already given away. Her teats were enormous for weeks as the foster family was slow in getting these pups adopted and she was engorged for a long time. Very sad for her. But , she's a health girl now. Happy, too. She deserves that and more.

? What do you mean? She was dumped, pregnant at a rural shelter in southern VA, ready to burst. Now she's in my home, where she safely delivered her babies, has received medical attention, and her babies will be adopted out to loving homes. How is there anything wrong with this???
We didn't breed the dog for goodness sakes. But she's here, and she's had 11 puppies, and all 12 dogs have to be taken care of.
Momma will also be adopted out - and fixed first! So no more babies will be brought into the world from her by an irresponsible owner.
