NP also in a similar position. Looking at small, cheaper SUVs/crossovers like Hyundai Tuscon, Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro. Anyone have experience with those?

I'm looking forward to being able to park in a compact space!

We take a good amount of road trips and I really like the minivan for those. Not sure that I’ll want to take the 10 year old van on road trips (at some point I would start to worry about reliability), but having two minivans seems silly.

Good luck. No minivans on any lots near me. You have to order them and they are $50k+. Same with any SUV that seats 7 people, plus another $5-10k for the SUV premium.

Pulling up and everything fits in is just life changing. Sliding doors for groceries are awesome. Going on a roadtrip and being able to pack whatever we want is great too. I also love being able to fit our parents in the car too when we go out instead of taking two cars.

I was 100% in agreement until Honda and Toyota made their latest minivans to wide to fit through my garage door. How short sighted of them. That is 100% the reason I no longer drive a minivan. I probably would have driven one forever.

Pro tip- if you upgrade to the elite Odyssey, the side mirrors tilt in automatically so you can make it in the garage.

We were just debating changing from 2 1-car garages to a 2 car garage on our house so that the odyssey would fit better. More angry at home builder than I am at Honda

Well I am mad at Honda. Each van gets wider than the one before. Why??? We tried the Elite and it technically fit but was still a close shave. Ended up with an MDX, so sadly Honda still got my money. We do really like the MDX though.

Got the Outback when my previous car gave out. It can hold all 5 of us when it needs to, although we use the minivan for road trips, and it can hold all sorts of home-improvement stuff when I'm out running errands alone (ah, the sweet freedom of having older kids). Very safe and can be taken to my friendly nearby garage.

We have a non-hybrid CRV as our second car which I regret. Maybe the hybrid is better, but I prefer my brothers rav4 hybrid. The CRV is I think a 2017 or 2018, and it lacks pickup, the electronic screen shorts put intermittently, which apparently is a known problem the Honda can’t/won’t fix, and I just find the Toyota a nicer ride.

We got a RAV4 hybrid. I love it! But I also miss my Sienna a ton ...

I got a Jeep Wrangler. Because I could. Yay me.

(It's my weekend car. My daily use car is a 5-year-old CRV)

Recently traded my 2004 Accord for a 2020. They're not exciting, but it's a reliable, low-maintenance car. The newer Accords are bigger than the old ones, too, if you're still driving kids around - the trunk space increased by a few cubic feet.
