Many do know that Noonan is very difficult to work with and keeps changing plans and making announcements without filling in staff. We don’t know how this has affected the board. Today is another example when he announced everyone will return 5 days a week after spring break and told them it is not another “pivot.” That’s exactly what it is to families and staff. He is not consistent and is terrible at communicating. The long videos are worse and he is constantly changing plans on staff and students after he said he would not.
!! Is that teachers coming back 5 days/ week after spring break or all students returning 5 days a week. That seems at odds with CDC recommendations!
Teachers have been working 5 days per week. All of the students. New schedules for all. Did he not tell the community?
seriously???? that is great news. It has definitely not been announced. I would expect it to be all over the falls church city parents for schools facebook page, and its not.
His weekly update was very clear that the plan is for K-5 to be back 5 days a week after April 6, and the rest of the grades hopefully to follow.
It is not all over the falls church city parents for schools facebook page because that group seems to only thrive on bad news.

School 5 days a week after being told they would have Mondays off the rest of the year. Mine is asking to only go 2 days and sign in virtually the other two days. The teachers were discussing today and don’t know how the schedule will look.
I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. Where was it ever stated that Monday's were off for the rest of the year? and why on earth should a school system be listening to a smattering of high school kids that don't want to go to school. I mean this is a version of the SCA president who runs on a platform of 'more recess'.
100% agree. I keep hearing of high schoolers who don't want to return to the classrooms because they like doing school from their beds. WTF? My high schooler is required to get out of bed, get dressed, and do school from a desk every day. Also required to get outside and get moving several times a day during breaks.
OF COURSE kids like having little to do on Mondays and would love a 4-day week. In fact, let's just cancel school altogether and who cares if they learn little-to-nothing this year.....
It sounds like yours didn’t learn little to nothing, especially since they were dressed and sitting at a desk...
Why are you so upset? The high school is letting them come 4 days per week now and phasing it in by grade. They already said it’s all juniors and seniors and sophomores will be next week. Freshman will likely be the following week. Now your kid can log onto virtual classes from the school instead of the desk if you want. Do you think full day Mondays for 4th quarter for this age group will make that much of a difference in terms of education? Mine are planning on staying home for their virtual days as long as possible. You said you make yours go outside during the day. So do I. It will finally be nice this week and sitting inside all day doesn’t sound good to any of us in our family.
I'm not upset; it just seems crazy to me that we're having a discussion about whether or not our kids should get to take Mondays off or be in school.
And yes, I do think 20% more school and instruction will make a difference in their education.
