Oh please! As mentioned my dd spat everything and refused most liquids. She drank a bit of water and spat it out pretty fast too. She is now a 19-year-old. Was she dehydrated? Yes, but not enough to cause any lasting damage. So much drama! What, is this baby never going to drink water?

Pay attention, dear. OP’s baby is five months old and takes nothing but breast milk. No water and no solids. So starving her for two days sounds like a bad idea.

Plus, OP is only asking about possible negative repercussions from EBF - not asking for your outdated advice on how to dehydrate her infant.

How would this work? Just pump? Also solid food? This is only a 5 month old

Exactly how I posted. No breast. If baby super slim? My dd had insane reflux and refused breast and bottle, but she ate some oatmeal. This was at a much younger age too. Not that I had a choice, it was just trying whatever worked method, just so she would eat anything. I found out when I lived in Africa, that many babies are fed solids very early, if mom has to work she eat even rice. Most 5 month old very capable of eating solids or even going without milk for a whole day. I am not saying do this, why would you if you are always there and breast milk is always there? But, if this is an issue due to going to day care, being absent, surely feeding the baby is better than starving baby?
Why would baby switch if baby knows breast is there?

So what does the nanny do when baby is hungry and you aren’t around?
