Yes you can. It is called catharsis. Look it up. Excercising, talking, crying. Literally, you get through emotional grief by releasing it somehow. There is a period when it becomes self-defeating and the pain just changes form to rot or something else harmful, more harmful than the person who hurt you. He left a parting gift of you hurting you. Don't fall for that trap, OP! But find a healthy release.
