Our house is relatively neat... and clean, but not as cleans as all of yours.i think one thing working moms do to make things impossible is to keep the same or even higher household Chore and cleanliness Standards of non working women before them, it used to be women’s work to stay at home all day cleNing, cooking, etc. we don’t have to wash all the sheets eeevry weekend, wash the floors, etc. if you have help, great.if not, take a huge chill pill! One thing I agree with and struggle mightily to achieve is having less stuff. That’s definitely made our houses messier in the age of amazon.

To clarify, I handle weekend lunches, and I also put out breakfast the night before if I can (cereal and banana and dried fruit) and cover with Saran Wrap so I can sleep in and husband doesn’t have to worry about breakfast. Every other Saturday I make the kids clean up their room. Trying to create rhythms and habits.

We keep meals simple and we have a cleaning service.

I do meal prep on weekends during nap time. I do laundry during the week - pop it in the the morning when I wake, dryer before I head out the door, DH folds in the evening.

I don’t grocery shop - all groceries are ordered in an app, drive up to get them. Everything else comes from Amazon or Target delivery. I go inside stores 2-3x a year even pre-pandemic.

Husband wipes counters and does dishes. Cleaners clean the house weekly. Lawncare is also outsourced.

HAve your husband and kids each do their own laundry.

Divvy up chores and don’t get mad when DH does his differently than you’d like to.

Ignore the mess.

Hire cleaning service for bathrooms/floors/dusting. Mine come ever 3 weeks.

Nanny, cleaners, handyman, weekend cook, laundry service, lawn service, tutors.

Does she hate the family?

Outsource what you can. Laundry, cleaning, and cooking can be done by someone else. That just leaves the tidying up each day and weekends free of chores.

We have three kids, so there is no way we could leave everything to the weekend. My husband does the grocery shopping Monday morning (kids are at school/with nanny) first thing and starts his work day a bit later. I do laundry every day (at least one load). We don’t meal prep, but just cook early 30 minute type meals each week night and get take out on the weekends. We also tidy after kids go to bed for 20/30 minutes (think put away toys/dishes etc). We also have a weekly cleaner. I still feel we have plenty of time on weekend.
