You can tell a split foyer because the front door will be sandwiched between the upper and lower windows, and not level with either set.

No, this is a split foyer.

Split-foyer, I live in a similar one, except we added an addition so my kitchen is open to a large family room off of the back of the upper level. Somewhat depressing to see how much it costs to live in a split foyer.

We live in a split-level. Front door opens to foyer, off of which is the kitchen, dining room, living room, and two half-flights of stairs. Stairs going up go to bedrooms; stairs going down go to family room, office, half-bath, laundry area, and stairs to basement. The basement runs the full length/width of the level with the front door. I love this house.

Split-foyers are also very common in our area. That’s where you walk into the foyer and have to immediately go up (kitchen, combined dining/living room, and some bedrooms) or down (basement rec room, bedroom or two, bathroom). I cannot stand this layout, personally.
