Southeast Asian refers typically to Indians. East Asians refer to Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Most people, non-Asians, can tell the difference between an Indian and an East Asian.

You are incorrect. If you don't even know the proper designations, you probably also can't tell the difference between the peoples.

Southeast Asian= Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, etc.
South Asian= India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, etc
East Asian= Japan, China, N and S Korea, Mongolia, etc

Funny how people like to stereotype Asians but then don't even understand the geography or know how vast and diverse we are.

Asia is the most culturally diverse continent in the world, yet to White and Black America we are one gigantic monolith.

Nope. Black and for much of my life, fat. But it's OK because I wasn't aspiring to be beautiful.

Sure women of extraordinary beauty are celebrated no matter the race. But a harder question is whether a women of color who is not gorgeous, just pretty in an everage or typical way is seen that way in broader american culture.

Korean American here. It’s... getting better. Still a lot of racism and/or jealousy and/or intolerance for the Asian body type. “Built like a boy” etc... Constance Wu in Crazy Rich Asians (regardless of what you thought about the movie) was a pretty big moment. To All the Boys is also pretty huge.

Nope.. Another south Asian American here. I grew up in the USA. I was always the exotic one. I stick out in my group class photos in elementary school. The tan one in a sea of pale faces. I feel fetishized too by random white men. I still don’t see enough representation of women who look like me. While progress is happening at a glacial pace, now I can go to a store and find makeup in skin tones that match mine. Growing up, I could never find foundation that matched me. It was either too pink or much deeper than my skin tone.

I’m black. I am, what has been described all my life by people of all races and in the few countries I have lived in, as very beautiful by people of all races. I’m slim but not overly toned and I dress very well though not seductively. I’ve never felt less than in that regard. I’m East Asian, very thin, athletic, and above average height. Pretty but not stunning. Wish I had bigger boobs (I’m 32C). I didn’t have many suitors even when young because I was so shy and awkward. I notice that the women who got the most attention, regardless of race, were charismatic, lit up the room, friendly, and confident. I really envied them.
