Try parts of Rockville in Montgomery County meaning look for schools that feed to Richard Montgomery. Or maybe Dufief Elementary which feeds to Wooton. Dufief has a few pockets of older homes that might work. Or even schools that feed to Walter Johnson HS. Price point might be difficult but there are some houses out there.
Howard county has good schools as well. I don't know those areas but there are areas there that would work better than Crofton/Gambills.

I am also AA and live in Bethesda. The downside is finding an area within that is diverse enough for your family. My elementary dc has a hard time with the lack of diversity (just 1, not the other).
Post covid all of mcps has been in flames. They have not opened ALL YEAR. Honestly the odds are low but I would do a private school for a year or 2 that has alot of students with adhd. I cant remember the most popular ones, field? Lab? You can search the private school forum for adhd or LD (learning disabilities).
Otherwise your child will be probably be home more than not.

Black boys in MCPS do better in AP exams.

MCPS students of all racial/ethnic groups exceeded the percentage of AP exams with scores of 3 or higher compared with students in the state of Maryland and in the nation. For example, the percentage of AP exams taken by MCPS African American students earning scores of 3 or higher (47.1 percent) was 17.2 percentage points greater than those in the nation (29.9 percent).
