I finished this last night and really enjoyed it more than I thought I would based on the reviews I'd seen. I've not read the book, so it's interesting to read about the changes they've made. I hope they come back for a second season - otherwise that's the worst ending for a show ever.

Same. And I can't help imagining how lovely she would have looked if she aged gracefully without them.

Ha, same!

Me, too. But I'm only watching two episodes at a time (on episode 6 now). The show is like the TV equivalent of Xanax, and I need that right now.

Yes loving this too! I have 1 1/2 episodes left.

What is different? I have no interest in reading the book.

It's like 20% based on the book, 80% completely new plot. The girls becoming best friends, cloud being high all the time, and them meeting Johnny at KPOC is in the book. Other than that, it's all new content. I dont' want to spoil anything here but for example, Sean is not gay in the book; Kate and Johnny have three kids (Marah, and twin boys); there's no Tully/Max plot, etc.

Book spoiler—

In the book, the girls become estranged because Tully ambushes Kate on her show telling her she’s a bad mother to Maura...

She was really mad at Tully so there must be more to story then that....so curious now!
