Subject: Custody Q: one Aspergers parent and 1 aspergers kid
Np. I’m beginning to realize that anything is better for the kids than seeing their dysfunctional ASD father ignoring them and me, lashing out when he makes mistakes, and being a pig in the house.
So I’m slowly making peace that he will have to do something better with whatever custody time he wants up to the halfway point. I won’t be there to blame or argue with. He’ll clearly be responsible for the kids missing homework or late appointments or what have you. What’s he going to do then?
What age do kids rights emerge and their view of where to stay?

The courts don’t care. I’m dealing with this now, and dad isn’t abusive so he has rights to parent.
The fact that dad has issues isn’t something the court is willing to take away parenting time for.

I was advised by my attorney to stay married to ensure I have 100% custody. Would love to talk to a different lawyer. ASD spouse and NT young kids. I don't want to risk my kids to prove that DH will be unfit
