Prices are going up all over due to low mortgage rates (some monthly payment for higher costs).

No one I know who lives in Ashburn/Leesburg commutes to downtown DC - they are working at AWS, Verizon or other employers out in Herndon/Reston or in Loudoun.

Loudoun has been one of the richest counties in America for years, so rising home costs are not surprising.

Too conservative and fundamental religious for my taste (and I am are regular church goer).

My kids Ashburn school is mostly Indian. To the point that white kids don't usually have another white kid in their class. The "other" kids are a really good mix of cultures/ethnicities. The idea that it's a racist bastion is so off the mark. I understand that there is an Indian caste system and that Indians who live here do still follow it but none of my Indian friends have ever been vocal about it. As a result of being in the minority my kids have a truly diverse friend group. I like my Indian neighbors. NW DC is whiter.

You'll see a lot more of this tied to commute frequency. My employer cut office space in half and I only have to drive into DC a few times/month now. If I were looking for a new house I'd be looking in Ashburn.

Have lived in two different communities in Ashburn. In both spots, the neighborhoods have been fairly diverse, with a mix of White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, and south Asian (Indian/Pakistani) families living on our street. Lots of trails and open space, which has been especially nice during the pandemic. Almost all of the communities have pools and playgrounds. Tons of soccer fields and indoor sports areas for both kids and adult sports leagues. Great grocery stores and a decent, though not fabulous, mix of non-chain restaurants.

Traffic within Ashburn itself is fine, though it definitely is a long commute to DC, if you drive. Many people (myself included) telework several days per week, even before the pandemic. Many others take the commuter bus, and are planning to take the metro when it opens.

Omg, it’s not that far. It’s a nice planned community right up Toll Road, built from green field so no apartments or pockets of lower income, so it’s called Cashburn by locals.

If you want wide open spaces but still hit DC for occasional meeting, it’s the bees knees

I have a coworker that lives there. We have visited him (pre-COVID) and it does seem nice, but there is no disputing that it definitely is far if you work in DC (which we do).

Who are among the worse racist in the world! As in, they had racism and caste system before Ancient Greece?

I looked at Ashburn 2011, but it was way too far a commute. I felt that for our budget, it was way too expensive even then, given the commute. Beautiful subdivisions for those that love newer homes and clean spaces.
Gien that upper MoCo and even Frederick, Urbana, and most of MD are also going nuts, this is not a surprise.
