I'm not a teacher but I know many. This is not "living the best life" for most. Far from it.
I’m an IA and don’t know any teachers who are living their best life right now. They’re worried about their students who aren’t logging on or how to meet the needs of those who are struggling. Most have gotten pretty used to the bashing on social media and rude emails. A lot are looking to leave the profession.

He IS NOT leading the pack. He is leading the lawsuit, which APE has come out and said it separate and distinct from their organization. It is unfortunate that political leanings are being swept up in this discussion, because it is a nonpartisan issue.

DP here. I don’t feel the venom that PP does, but neither do I feel any sympathy. All of the teachers I know are living their best life right now, and are happy to tell you so. Most plan to hop a plane for spring break since they will be vaccinated.
I'm going to guess that you don't know very many teachers. The ones I know are working very hard to make DL work, struggling to take care of children, family members with illness, and their own health. None of them are hopping planes or planning travel. Maybe you need to meet a few more people before you go painting all teachers with the same brush.
I know a lot actually. Its a pretty common "2nd income" in my neighborhood. And all I know is what they tell me. Which is that they would love this to last forever.

This is pretty much where I am too. Teachers are people, as (un)selfish and (non-)opportunistic as anyone else. They are not heroes, they don’t deserve any special commendation, but they also don’t deserve to be demonized any more than other people who are finding benefits to the pandemic.

He’s not “leading the pack” over at APE. He’s not on the steering committee. Lots of people in APE disagree with his lawsuit (which is part of why he’s been struggling so much to fundraise for it), and the steering committee has made it clear to him that he can only discuss it on their forum as long as he makes it clear that APE is not endorsing the lawsuit.
Do you knowingly traffic in lies, or are you just too lazy to verify?

Right, I saw that and it seems like those posts were deleted on APE. They also deleted the follow up post asking why it was deleted (but I didn't see if anyone ever responded to that).
