What they should do is publicize teacher assignments to hybrid v virtual based on demand from October choices. They should make clear these are preliminary and not final. They should then poll everyone again and assign kids/teachers as needed.

When we picked hybrid the case threshold was 9 per 100,000. 9!!!!

We’re now at 40.

You can’t do this to people APS. You have to let everyone pick again. Sorry I’m sure that sucks and is inconvenient for you.

Now is the time they call in all the teachers to come back regardless of their preference??? Now? In the middle of the national peak and with the vaccine on the way?

You can’t grow a pair of balls after all this Duran. Too late. You messed it up.

The kids should have been back in August, settled in their classes for the year based on the model they picked, and they could have taken a nice long virtual winter to get through this peak virus time...which anyone with firing brain cells saw coming.

Can anyone explain how the concurrent model works logistically? Will the teacher be sitting at his/her desk in front of their computer (with mask on) and teaching from there to both the hybrid and DL students?

Yeah I am feeling stunned.

I had picked hybrid but no longer feel comfortable and we’re just going to get reassigned and it’s done? Am I going to have to pull my kid and homeschool?

I thought you could always switch to DL just not back to hybrid!

I hope so. That’s partly why we picked hybrid. So we’d have that option when the time came if we felt comfortable.

Same. They have drastically changed their entire approach. They couldn’t have been more conservative when we picked and now it’s send them in during the peak???

I picked it because we made our preferences when it looked like APS was being very cautious. Looks like that’s not the case anymore.

No one should be forced back in person if they are not comfortable. That is insane.

It seems like it depends on your school. ATS :no switching. According to this thread, Fleet, some families called with option to switch, other families not. Also according to DCUM, some "N. Arlington" school families told they will have a chance to switch.

What the hell????

I expect APS to treat all families equitably. Contact Engage, the superintendent and the SB if you agree with me.

You start to wonder if this is part of the game plan. Force as many of us in to virtual as they can.

Yep us too. And we're not the only ones I know who did this. I suspect the hybrid rate may be a bit inflated at current conditions.

NP. I thought that too but how does it work in practice? Do we email the principal? My principal hates me so I don’t want to do it unless absolutely necessary.
