He was Tyler's friend. I think he was part of the "quaranteam" including Tyler and Hannah which was going through the rumor mill at the time the pandemic started. They were the focus before they came up with the bachelorette season. Ivan was too soon to choose, and they had to pick a black guy fast. The pressure was on due to the racial things going on and Rachel making a big stink. Clare is not letting go of Dale. She wants her babieeeessss!

He isn't, they are giving us fresh blood during covid. I think that was probably needed, someone who isnt already making a bunch of their living from being on the shows
He was supposed to be a contestant on Clare/Taysha's season, but the filming was delayed and the producers had to make a call for the Bachelor. The producers decided to take a chance with Matt.
I think there are some really interesting contestants, but of course instead of really letting us get to know them and delve into their backgrounds and interests, the show is going to give us week after week of manufactured drama and petty catfighting. Not looking forward to that. One would hope that with all of the women having to have declared deep Christian faith to be eligible for this season, this would be the kinder gentler cast. Not holding my breath.
I continue to be amazed that this show is so popular among the conservative/religious set. Is this why it took so long to start casting POCs and why there has never been a LGBTQIA season? The entire concept of dating 20+ people at the same time and eliminating the unworthy one by one just seems so...unchaste.
That resort looks fabulous and will be on my post-pandemic local-ish travel list.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:What Bach nation person was Matt friends with that introduced him to the show? Per the post upthread that I don't care to highlight, just curious who the connection was
Tyler Cameron

He seems kinda boring. Apparently his mom is a Trumpet and he was a registered republican as of last year, now unregistered. Not sure how I feel about the first black Bachelor being a republican
I think it’s a questionable choice to have the first black bachelor be a Republican who essentially became popular due to being best friends with one of the white contestants. Criticize me all you want for it but there it is.
After that let’s talk about the women- anyone standing out? Do the contestants actually come up with these gimmicky intros or is that facilitated by producers?
So black people aren’t allowed to be on the unless you approve of them? Or unless they got it through other black peoples- not through a white friend?
This is truly one of the most racist things I’ve ever seen anyone say on this site. Shocking. This is probably why robin d’Angelo said white liberals are the most dangerously racist people around. You really need to do some introspection. My God.
No, that’s not it. Look at the posted tweet above. That’s more in line with what I think, and a lot of POC commentators agree with me. There is a subreddit called Bachelor_POC and tons of similar comments. You can disagree with me but I am not racist for this standpoint.

LMAO! It was not a La Quinta motel! Didn’t you notice how nice it was? Every one had their own villa. It’s a resort- nothing to do with the low class motel chain.
Hahaha, this is a good laugh. Its a waldorf property, but honestly I only know that from working in travel for a while and definitely would have thought 'La Quinta???" if just watching the commercials for the show.
