Maybe try some type of Hypnosis?
good to know. And I agree! I don't know if I have a phobia per se, but I have the usual generalized anxiety and then on top of that some moments in a day here and there of "holy shit I'm terrified and feel doom" Not sure if you can relate. then i become obsessed with whatever it is scaring me and turn to god awful google. Had a great dr app today and feel much better, he said he has seen much worse then me (in terms of anxiety)
Oh I have an Anxiety disorder I can fully relate. Don't google- unless you want to google positive birth stories. I would certainly ask your provider for some recommendations for someone to talk to about this. Sometimes I get anxious about something but that is just a stand in for fears about a bigger problem. So if I'm anxious about a big project in general I freak out about a small piece like a specific email. Maybe you are afraid of parenthood in general and the birth phobia is a sign of that? Just a thought.
I think you would benefit from some meditation or hypnosis. Also journal about your specific fears - break it down. Afraid of bad outcomes for the baby? Afraid of bad outcomes for you? Pain? Write it all out.
Is your partner involved? Can they take a course/read a book to help reassure you?
Best of luck. I will say that my unmedicated births hurt less than passing a kidney stone ha ha ha
