Last year he finished with a 3.8
This semester, 17 credits, 2.6. He worked too many hours and struggled with online learning in what is normally a very collaborative path of study.
But none of that matters. Job search or grad school admissions will be portfolio based and he's building a great one.

Well 2.8 is holding on and solid in engineering. Those of us whose kids aren't taking the world by storm don't need you to point out the obvious. Kids with a 2.8 in engineering don't get jobs in NASA, but they do get jobs. Just go away.

Maybe not their 1st job.
I'd love to read that. And it is a good reminder that some of us are slower to find our path than others.

This is a very wholesome thread, OP. There should be more of them. I bet many more folks on Dcum would benefit. Report the occasional elitist comments that do nothing but serve their ego. I'd rather be friends with the posters here than the former. Good luck to your kids! They're doing great.

Oh, please. The minimum GPA to keep an engineering scholarship at my alma mater was a 2.6. A 2.8 at a great school in a rigorous engineering program is respectable.
