Angela's Christmas on netflix is darling and gentle. There is a sequel too.

This is such a great thread, I’m in the same boat with my 6 year old. A few that have worked well are the parent trap w Lindsay Lohan, the adventures of Winnie the Pooh, inside out, and the incredibles (with assurances all would be ok in the end).

Grateful for this post. I have a sensitive 6 year old who can't really manage anything yet. I'm going to try some of these over the break.

What other G rated movies are gentle like that? He couldn't watch: Kung Fu Panda, Ratatouille, Moana, Toy Story etc

Yeah I agree. My 4 year old is sensitive to scary things and will not watch Frozen, for example. She likes the characters, but was really scared when we watched the movie; we had to turn it off.

Also I think it depends on what kind of sensitive your kid is. Some are sensitive to scary things, others are sensitive to yelling, others are sensitive to family separation.

OP, a good source is common sense media. The reviews will typically point out any potential issue, and you can decide for yourself whether or not your DC would be okay with it.

Agree with Totoro 100%. Watched it earlier this year with my boys (3 & 6) and we all loved it. It's a special movie.

The movie I most like watching with DS is Monsters Inc. Definitely going to check out Tortoro.
