I always roll my eyes when I get a box of over priced pears but then I eat one and remember how damn good they are. And I like the popcorn.

Where do you get pears that are good? What are they called?

Why don’t you trust your own opinion / taste?? You people who farm these types of questions out to strangers on the internet are sad to me.

It's fine, but I think stuff like this is more fun:

I just sent the pears to my parents. They love it. Years ago the chocolate covered bing cherries were really good, I don't know if the still have them.

Have you looked at gold belly? Of an artisanal olive oil and vinegar place? I like this like this more but would be thrilled to receive a harry and david’s, maybe more fruit and cheese focused. I find myself overwhelmed with the sweets during the holidays and have little self control!

I think it’s very dated although their pears are good

I don't think it's tacky and the packaging is really nice, but I do think the food is mediocre and overpriced. We've had dried fruit that we wouldn't have been able to identify if doing a blind taste test - it just tastes sweet. The nuts are meh and the pears no better, in my opinion, than what I can get at the grocery. It's just overpriced for what it is.

They are consistent and convenient. I prefer to send wolfermans signature muffins since it’s a unique product. If you sent me H&D or zingerman’s, I’d be equally happy

I just got a fruit and candy tower delivery from Costco and the pears and apples were delicious.

I especially like the pears this year for my elderly relatives who can’t go out because of Covid.

I live where Harry and David is HQ’d. I’ve eaten my weight in moose munch and golden foil wrapped pears over the years. It’s still awesome!

I really like getting a box of oranges/citrus from Florida, like this https://www.halegroves.com/sweet-six-citrus-gift-collection/p/sweetsixcitrusgiftcollection/

It’s not tacky, but it’s less special now that you can get good pears/fruit at Whole Foods or similar. There was a time when it was so exciting to get a good pear in December.

I still like it, but I’d probably send something more offbeat.
