I graduated from high school in 1992. Every third girl in my grade was either Michelle/Michele or Christy/Christie/Kristi/Kristy or Amy/Aimee/Amie or Jennifer/Jen/Jenny. We had a lot of girls with the nickname Missy and I think we had multiple girls named Nicole/Nikki too.
When I got to college, all of kids a year ahead of me were Jen if they were female or Alex if they were male.

I work with quite a few Wendys (40s and 50s) and have never once thought of the fast food restaurant. If anything, it's a bit more Peter Pan. JM Barrie made up the name for Peter Pan

I'm not sure if Erin is GenX, it started getting popular in the 60s but peaked in the 80s, making it more of an early Millennials name.
Anyway, it was my childhood best friend's name and now my 16 yr old DD's name. Love it.

I actually love Jennifer and Heather. Sure, there were too many of them, but they are both lovely names with nice histories.
