So the maskless diners are not getting COVID, only the workers?? Is that why the numbers read that way?

To answer your question, I do not know where all the people who work in Bethesda restaurants live. I have not conducted a census. But by your unassailable logic, if all the COVID positive people from Aspen Hill are all working on the Bethesda restaurants, then there should be a very high rated of infection in Bethesda since there are about 180 restaurants.

No, the rates would be high in Aspen Hill, because that's where the people live who work in Bethesda restaurants.

Also, why do you assume that people in Aspen Hill don't wear masks and/or don't know how covid is spread?

Also, hey look:

9 a.m. – 1 p.m. - Wednesday, December 9, 2020
Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center
11701 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton, MD 20902
Indoor Walk-Up Testing
Appointment recommended - make an appointment online or call the Testing Helpline at 240-777-1755
If appointments are unavailable, you can still walk in/drive in to any testing clinic without an appointment.

The thread is about indoor dining skippy. The rates would be high in Bethesda because that is where unmasked covid super spreading diners are eating in the 180 restaurants. I also know that 180 number has gone down and hundreds of people have lost jobs, but no worries for you since I'm sure your paycheck is just fine with all your nice privilege.

Here is the zip code numbers with the disparities. If you think shutting down significantly reduced indoor dining is going to drive these numbers down, good luck.

https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/case-counts.html#cases-zip

Thanks for your mad google skills - a whole 4 hours of testing right in the middle of the work day for people who are likely hourly employees who cannot afford to take time off.

Slow.Clap.For.You.

Agreed- deliver/curbside pickup at grocery stores only. That’s it.

I'm assuming that all of your personal groceries will be by you by bicycle, so you don't have to worry about gas stations or car mechanics or delivery people.

However, that still leaves the sticky problem that store shelves don't spontaneously generate groceries.

Your livelihood isn’t worth my life. Sorry. But it’s just not. If the choice is you losing your home, or making me sick, then I’ll pick you losing your home every time. Restaurants are THE primary disease vector now. This is science. Your paycheck isn’t worth my life.

dp.. talk about self centered. People who earn their living from working in restaurants rely on this income to live.

Why don't *you* stay home and not go out. Then you won't be exposed to the restaurant workers. See how that works.

Right? If PP is staying home they would have very little to worry about to begin with. Exercise some personal responsibility people.

Parks? Why parks?

Because people gather in parks, and that spreads covid.

You don’t need to go for a walk. Stay in your damn house. If people did that when this started, we wouldn’t be in this mess now. I’ve left my home maybe -MAYBE- two dozen times since April. I resupply every 2-3 weeks. Beyond that, I stay inside. It’s not difficult. If I can do it, anyone can.

I'd like to think you are a troll but perhaps not. I suggest you call a psychiatrist ASAP if this is real.

I know a handful of people like this. Just hope everyone is taking vitamin D.

Yeah, IMO it is sad that some people have such extreme irrational fear of COVID that they do greater secondary harm to their own mental, physical and social well-being, but unfortunately they can't see that. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever not to take walks at a distance or visit family/friends outside with a mask/distance. Heck, even get in your car and drive around and see the world and don't get out. Not a single doctor or scientist recommends this extreme of isolation quarantine. They really do need encouragement that they are doing more harm than good by avoiding beneficial activities that carry a .00000001 risk like walking at a distance.

Wow! You need to seek mental health assistance, STAT. This is clearly not about Covid for you.

There is a rotten place in hell for people like you. You can't possibly believe it is a choice of their home v. your life. Your overdramatization and callousness for other people's livelihood is sickening. I support shutting down indoor dining btw. But you are a straight up POS.

Targeted campaigns include going into marginalized neighborhoods and handing out free masks, hand sanitizers, brochures in multiple languages that explain how COVID is spread.
Make testing easy, in church parking lots or community centers. Many immigrants are afraid to go for testing due to fear of deportation or fear of hospitals since they do not have insurance. Have local group meetings to explain to non-english speakers how to be safe. These are known as public health campaigns that can reduce incidence. Elrich has never once spoken about a strategy other than shuttering doors. But he certainly made sure we could get tattoos, tans and made a special rule for outdoor live music.
