Possibly or an indication you got engaged at an older age (mid 30's+)

I have a 1.7 C and mine is probably middle range. I have small hands and a plain platinum band. I have had people tell me to get a halo because my ring is too small for our area.

Since I’m a lawyer who bills by the hour I’m a little self conscious about this. I don’t want my clients to wonder if they’re paying too much.

I do have a 2ct emerald but I think emeralds are a little more subtle even when they’re big?

No, but only if you spell it carot. And you have to keep telling everyone about the carots you have every chance you get.

I would personally find this a useful way to trim down my wedding invite list. Maybe even worth wearing a fake "small" ring just to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Any loser with halfway-decent credit can finance a ring, but go off

Nope. Mine is around 1.75 and doesn’t seem big. Maybe 2-5-3 would seem big.

Depends on your social circle. Two carats is the minimum size to not have people talk behind my back and say that my fiancé is a loser.

To me, it is too big for an engagement ring or any ring I will wear everyday. But that's obviously personal preference.

I happily wear bigger stones than that every now and again, but for me it's part of a whole look and also needs to be in a setting where it's not going to get in my way. I am also very petite.

I'd rather a smaller diamond and a bigger....you know.

Personally in my world 1.5 is perfect, not overstated or calling attention but nice n sparkly. But honestly I care more about other matters...

Like high heeled pumps.

Is this what you tell yourself because you have a crappy ring? Diamonds will always be in. They will never go away. Women love diamonds.

No mean girl. I’m speaking as someone who has a family diamond ring over two carats (large enough that it slides around my finger when I wear it-sigh- so annoying), and two more smaller diamond rings, an emerald and diamond ring etc that I keep in a safe deposit box.

It depends on the size of the person. I’m 5’10 with long, thin fingers and my 3 ct ring looks fine.

Not being snarky but what would people assume?

Just thinking of my friends with UMC incomes. Most have at least 2 carats.

Nope.

If there were such a thing as too big, 2 cts would not be. You do not need to worry about this though because a diamond can never be too big! Also, diamonds tend to shrink with time
