Ha, want to get your point across to the men? Fill the sign up genius with pads, nipple cream, ice packs, nursing pads, stool softener, etc. That’s what she REALLY needs.

But if they insist, snacks you can eat with one hand, pacifiers, diapers, stuff for the older child and, as someone said, clothes if the seasons are off from the first.

Can you do a sign up for multiple gift cards? Technically it’s an item. If no I agree, ask her. They might need a second crib or car seat, stroller for two. Seems perfect for a group gift (with a check in to mom).

You're definitely right that mom would rather have a meal train/snack basket. But if they are insisting on baby items, I'd do disposable things you know she'll eventually need more of - diapers, wipes, diaper cream, lotions, etc.

GC for food (I would have hated food items that need to be stored, might go bad, might not be something I like. GC for baby consumables like diapers (again, unless you know brand mom likes, it's a crapshoot to buy...she may have to exchange which will be a PITA with her DH deployed).

Depending on the amount, what I really loved with #2 was a fire tablet I could stream videos on while BF'ing (dunno why I didn't have it for #1).

I don’t see where in OP’s post she mentions anything about the mother throwing a pity party.
Maybe her coworkers are just being nice? I mean, I get that is a foreign idea to most people, but others actually try it out on occasion.
