Hybird for 5th and 8th. They (and I) wish it could be full time. We would go tomorrow. I am so furious at this ridiculous impossible metric and everyone that is hyping it. Get these kids in school ffs.

I have a senior and am leaving to staying virtual (child Is on board). Too many unanswered questions. (Hvac updates? How many in a room- I can see them not wanting to commit? But kids can’t leave a room if they aren’t comfortable with a situation. I’m wary of putting that much trust in MCPS

Go back as soon as possible. 8th grader with adhd and anxiety, who's struggling horribly with distance learning. I'm very comfortable with level of protection masks and regular hand washing/sanitizing provide. All things being equal, I wouldn't have been as comfortable had he been a 3rd grader, for example, who would never keep his mask in place, likely wouldn't wash hands, and probably would have picked a booger or two.

Hybrid for 1st and 2nd. I am under no illusion they will actually go back.

Virtual for our 6th graders - like others, think there are too many unanswered questions about what hybrid would actually look like, and virtual is going well. Our younger child attends a SN private and we chose in person when that school returns.

Our MS principal answered questions about the hybrid option at a PTA meeting today. Said 300 (out of 900) students had returned survey so far, with 180 opting for in-person and the rest virtual. Lots and lots of unanswered questions about details and specifics of what hybrid would look like, but they are working on planning. It just didn't seem like enough upside for my middle schooler to change from virtual, which is working well. Chose differently for my 5th grader and hoping for at least some time to finish out elementary school in person.

Was this for Eastern?

Yes.

Virtual for 10th grader.

Not a chance we are exposing our child and family.

12th and 8th grader chose virtual. 12th grader it was an easy decision- she’s got one foot out of the door anyway and has friends that she can FaceTime or meet up with (sparingly). 8th grader is struggling more socially but we also chose DL as he’s very concerned about COVID.

I heard that more than 1000 of the 1500 or so kids at my middle school chose hybrid. Administrators were surprised. I’m not.

Hybrid for my 3 oldest children and virtual for my 2 youngest. Little kids don’t have consistent and sustained ability to physical distance, keep their hands off of their eye nose mouth or wear masks properly for 6 hours a day. The oldest 3 kids in our family have the ability to practice and follow all the safety guidelines without reminders.

8th grade - stay DL
Pyle is overcrowded and full of flu and gastro sicknesses every year anyway, they are never going to go hybrid for anything other than special pop.
