I've seen several people equate attractiveness with outdoor activity. It would never occur to me that the two would be connected. Fishing, hunting, golf, jogging are all outdoor activities. I never associate these activities with "the beautiful people."
Certainly being fit helps with attractiveness, but one can be pretty fit with indoor activities (e.g. weight lifting, swimming, basketball, spinning classes, etc.).
I'm black, but my impression is most whites try to avoid too much sun or tanning because of fears of damaging their skin. Thus, one aesthetic benefit associated with being outdoors, tans, is generally avoided.
So why the hype around outdoorsy folks?
