Do you think that's a bit too much given the current situation? I'm for the kids having some social life, but just doesn't seem the right time at the moment.

If we want to keep soccer going, just let them play soccer and skip the parties. It's additional time together, and they're probably sitting near each other for longer periods when eating and sitting at a table, then they are in a huddle. Our huddles are just a few minutes, eating pizza together is at least 30 minutes. Why risk it? My friend's son's travel team had their coach catch Covid right at the end of the season, all the kids have had to be tested, and luckily none have tested positive, but can you imagine if they were sitting next to Coach at a pizza restaurant?
after the end of the season tournament, there is nothing to keep going. My kids are in public, so returning to school isn't at risk. They'll attend their respective parties and if we have to quarantine as a result, it's not like they have anything scheduled in winter anyway
You are being selfish. Others might be seeing relatives for Thanksgiving, even if it's outside, it's still a risk to pass it on to an older person. Some kids might need go to the dentist or the doctor. Most kids on travel teams practice Futsal or soccer in the winter, inside or outside, so no one on your team is doing any of these things? Or is it all about you and your immediate family?
I can make decisions based on my family, other parents are free to do the same. Winter soccer is on hiatus until January at our club, so that's irrelevant to us. If a kid wants to see grandma, they are free to not come to after season events. These kids have been practicing for between 1 and 2 hours day together 4 days a week in addition to games, worrying about an end of season get together seems ridiculous

Worst parents of all time. Just say no, OP.

I don't know why people like you keep suggesting less than 6ft. It's like you want them to get COVID lol
PP is saying they would never let their kids sit less than six feet apart. "No way."

What happened?
