I’m sorry but no, just no. Mission statement is nothing but hot air. Absolutely not top quality coaches. In fact not a single coach who played at a great college. It’s a bunch of George Mason players. Far, far away from a lax powerhouse. They may get some elementary school girls who didn’t make any other team in the area, not even MadLax (which I think is probably impossible). No way will they get a single capable middle or high school player. If they were in Montgomery or PG County they’d have more of a chance but in NoVa? No way. It’s the most saturated area with top programs already and the newest, MadLax girls, hasn’t even been able to field full teams in individual grad years - they are stuck forming combo age teams. This will fold within 3 years.

I’m not. Not at all. But this YJMidAtlantic is really bad. Not at all credible. No one who has done any research would chose this club over Capital, Pride, Cardinal and VA Metro. It just not going to make it.

Venturing into VA lacrosse with an off-the-radar VA-based club as your base doesn't seem like the greatest of ideas. At best the YJ's name will provide enough credibility and a spark to attract strong players who would not have entertained joining Rattlers in the past. Most likely this means the strongest players from Prince William County, Loudoun County, and western Fairfax County. Throw in a few who may be willing to travel outside these areas because of the YJ name. It could happen, but not likely, at least for a long while. If YJ does somehow pull this off it will impact the traditional stronger NoVa clubs who rely on strong talent from these western areas to fill out their rosters. Strong attendance at tryouts does not equate to strong talent. Again, it could happen, but YJMA will most likely struggle to gain a foothold with the stronger local players and families.

Not factual it was just old club players as the majority, and multiple of them were missing. Very few newer players. Mostly only new elementary school players. I was told that the people from LI wanted to come but couldn’t because of corona travel restrictions. The middle school and high school numbers that showed up did not look that great from what I saw on the fields. They are at the very least 3 to 5 years before they will be anything to consider seriously.
If your DD is serious about lacrosse look at VA Metro, Pride, Cardinal, Stars, Capital, or CAVs.
