It has been tough all around the country due to covid. Less spots, people taking gap years, red shirted players, and transfer portal. The list goes on and on. It has no become more accepted to go into transfer portal. Sad for all the girls. Many girls selected places or homes that were not their first choice. Moral of the story open your eyes realize no one is going to get your kid recruited. They have to be willing to be open and help themselves out. Either schools were not good enough for the players or the parents misguided their kid into only thinking high level schools or Ivies were only place their kid to play. If players only started looking at Division 3’s toward end of Spring, they lost out. Schools want you to want them. 2022’s should have looked in the Fall or earlier to high level/high academic Division 3’s .D3 is the way to go for sure.

I think the question is why are so many Capital players only getting mediocre school offers? Yes there were fewer spots with Covid but why didn't this well known club get more action from better college programs? If I was a parent or a player I would not be happy with where my time and money went to be left with only offers from mediocre schools. Its much more understandable that a new Panthera/Pride program would have a much harder time placing 22s.

The former recruiting director for Pride is now head coach at American so that’s probably a really good ‘in’ for 22’s and 23’s at Pride.

You can't blame Covid when Baltimore, Long Island and New York teams have had MUCH better results for their top 2022 programs. If the recruiting director is not helping players refine their lists to be more realistic particularly knowing how many players are targeting the same schools, what is that person actually doing for the job?!

That is what they get for hiring a public school coach of a mid tier team at CLC for 2022

Covid is the reason and too many parents sending their kids to the same camps. Learn from it, expand your list and know that you have to do it on your own. No program can promise you anything. Being realistic on schools and recognizing if you are not the top player on the team you can take most schools off your list. Middies have the best opportunities. Can’t wait until later to expand your list.

That is truth and lots of angry parents and players with little to no recruiting interest blaming club and recruiting director.

Give it a rest. It’s their first high school class ever. Most girls that year went to more established programs. Let’s see how they do as the program becomes more experienced.
