Sidney was a boy's name first, becoming popular after the American Revolution into the nineteenth century, and peaked in popularity in the 1910s. It started to be used as a girl's name in the 1990s. Sidney Bechet, Sydney Pollack, Sidney Lumet, Sidney Poitier, Sid Caesar, the fictional Sydney Carton, etc. Still used as a boys name -- there is a Canadian NHL player named Sidney Crosby, an NFL player named Sidney Jones, etc.

Allwood and Botany Village have a nice ring to them. (obviously, botany village is a girl's name.)

How about Cyd for the boys name and Adaline (Addy)? Enough to have meaning for you and your husband but not gimmicky.
It’s over. Twins are here and the have parents chosen different names. OP posted this to...I don’t know. Show her husband how many people hate the combo and thank god they didn’t go with his original choices?
PS- OP, glad you didn’t go with this. The combo. The names by themselves are fine. I think a lot of people would assumed Sydney was a girl.
