Her authorizing the transition isn’t a binding declaration that Biden is the winner, it’s just recognition that he is the “apparent” winner. If the result is later overturned, she can rescind the authorization and all funding and access can be cut off. Which really just emphasizes how much Murphy is prioritizing rank partisan pettiness over a well-functioning government.

I won't say it's not a big deal, because to all accounts this is highly unusual and nothing like bush v gore, but she will get there. Helps of course that Biden has experience in governance not just as a Senator but as VP. As a subplot of the series, I'm willing right now to assume this is a fairly minor one.

I would like to see more Rudy drunken comic relief, though.

Tangential--if this were a tv series, would it have been an easier to keep up with all the plot threads? I mean. Breaking Bad was manageable, by season 3 of Billions I was confused and didn't want to re-binge the previous season to refresh myself. The Trump Era--impossible, I would say. I'm amazed at the people who can follow all the strings between the pushpins.

Is she actually free to move about and do her job? Wouldn’t surprise me if she’s been detained and can’t physically issue the letter.

Let’s not go into looney toons territory. Emily Murphy is physically fine, she’s just a hack.

To go further off topic, your comments reminded me of the show That’s My Bush. It was a sitcom created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker that was about the shenanigans during W’s presidency. They said that when they were writing episodes, they’d make two lists: a list of current political topics and a list of sitcom themes. They’d randomly choose one item from each list and use those to guide their plot. I don’t remember specifics but I think there was an episode where GWB had planned date night with Laura or a family dinner on the same night as an official dinner he couldn’t cancel, and somehow they also tied in abortion as the political topic. The show was hilarious, but it got canceled after 9/11. Something like that would be better than the real trump nonsense, but there’s no way for it to be more farfetched than what actually happened. Real life in trump’s administration makes ridiculous sitcom plots seem tame and boring.

Are you going to sue all the states?

Somebody better clue in Trump. The Florida recount also attracted the top shelf of GOP lawyers. This one, not so much.

But were they? Bretty Kavanaugh was one, so was Amy Coney Island.

Bush also had legendary Secretary of State James Baker as well as Ben Ginsberg. Ben Ginsberg has been all over the news in the last week basically laughing at The Trump campaign's claims. He thinks they'll lose.

Exactly.

There are actually national security analysts who believe that the lack of time the Bush Administration had to transition in from the Clinton Administration (due to the Florida debacle) was potentially a factor in 9/11 happening. They weren’t able to hit the ground running.

No they were externally forced.

This is exactly what is happening.

She is also a person who sought a political appointment from Trump, which makes her judgment highly suspect.

I am well aware of all of the full timeline. With Republicans raising the prospect of faithless electors, though, that will give the GSA administrator over to delay until January.

I really hope she won’t do that, but I have no confidence anymore. I went to law school with her and never would have thought of her as someone who would play Trump’s game for even this long, so I don’t know what to think of her anymore.

Fellow American, could you please email your old classmate and ask her to sign the papers?

the smith college network is trying!!!

As is the UVA law network.
