You just need to get able to sit still. I got one (begged) and as soon as it was dove they said I could push. I chose to lay there and rehab for 10 minutes first.
Well, this wasn't a pitocin delivery, but with my second child I was only in the hospital for 20 minutes before the baby was born. By the time I got into a hospital bed, she was already crowning. That was too late for an epidural

. But as long as they can get someone there before you start pushing, I think it'd be fine.
