How is “might be” a thing to you? It has zero emissions. Do you even hear yourself?
Ummm because only about 15% of the electricity currently produced in this country is renewable? And even if you bother to purchase renewable energy (or have a big enough solar array to power your car with) you are still causing some other electricity that might have been green to instead be carbon based.
And I guarantee something this big uses a lot more electricity than say a Tesla car.
But the other issue is the single biggest cost in almost anything that is manufactured is energy. Now maybe GM is powering all of its manufacturing plants with 100% renewable energy but somehow I would be shocked if that is true in any way.
And none of that even touches on the terrible land use patterns necessitated by our driving or the fact that these behemoths make everyone on the road less safe including ironically enough the people driving them.
So no you don't get to buy one of these silly things and pat yourself on the back for being progressive or an environmentalist - you are just another tool who isn't smart enough to see through all the tens of billions in marketing the car companies throw at us every year.
